Ohio Opioid Case Going to Trial
cleveland.com – A lawsuit filed by the state of Ohio against major opioid distributors is scheduled to go to trial in October. The lawsuit aims to hold the defendants responsible for the devastation from the opioid crisis across the state. The lawsuit was filed in 2018 against Cardinal Health, McKesson Corp., AmerisourceBergen Corp. and Miami-Luken.

Bridge Company Denies Dayton’s Claims
Dayton Daily News – The bridge builder sued by the city of Dayton denies it is to blame for a 2019 water main break that resulted in a massive countywide outage. Sydney-based Eagle Bridge Co. has asked a judge to dismiss the lawsuit. The city alleges that while building the new Keowee Street bridge, the company improperly designed and built a causeway and failed to properly armor the banks of the river, which led to erosion and the rupture of a 36-inch water main.

Roger Stone Dropping Appeal
CNN – Former political consultant and lobbyist Roger Stone plans to drop the challenge of his criminal conviction. Stone was convicted in a jury trial last November on seven counts of lying to Congress, obstruction of Congress and witness tampering in connection with former special counsel Robert Mueller’s Russia investigation. Stone’s sentence was commuted by President Donald Trump last month.

Epic Games Battles Apple
Reuters – Epic Games is seeking to block Apple Inc’s removal of “Fortnite” from its app store. The video game maker asked a judge to prevent any retaliatory action against its other games in the store. In addition to making its own titles, Epic also makes tools for other game developers such as the Unreal Engine, which helps game developers create three-dimensional graphics.
