Help Elk & Elk and the Cavs Block Pediatric Cancer
During the historic 2015-16 season, Elk & Elk partnered with the Cleveland Cavaliers to block pediatric cancer. The "Get That Weak Stuff Out of Here" Campaign ties each shot blocked by the team to a $100 donation from Elk & Elk to Cleveland Clinic Children's. The Cavs totaled 406 blocks last season, resulting in a $40,600 donation from the firm. The donated funds support life-changing research in the fight against pediatric cancer.
Second leading cause of death in children
Although pediatric cases account for less than one percent of all cancers diagnosed annually, cancer is the second leading cause of death in children. More than ten thousand children under the age of 15 were expected to be diagnosed with cancer in the United States in 2015. The most common forms of pediatric cancer include leukemia, neuroblastoma and brain and central nervous system tumors.
Block Week Results
From now until the end of the regular season, Elk & Elk will tally up the Cavs' blocked shots for one week each month. At the conclusion of each "Block Week," we challenge you to donate a minimum of $1 per blocked shot. Below are the results of each block week so far.
