Recall alerts for Ford, IKEA, RH, Whalen, Safavieh and Home Depot

Ford, IKEA, RH, Whalen, Safavieh and Home Depot announced product recalls.

The United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSD) issued an important recall remedy notice:

Due to the extraordinary circumstances surrounding COVID-19, some of the remedies identified in recall press releases may not be available at this time. Consumers should check with recalling firms for further details.

It is important to remember that CPSC and recalling firms urge consumers not to use recalled products.

Ford

Ford issued a recall for nearly 250,000 vehicles in the U.S. for a door latch issue – the latch can degrade in high temperatures and thus will not be secured when the door is closed. Three sedans are affected: the Ford Fiesta and Fusion and the Lincoln MKZ. To fix the problem, dealers will replace the door latch with one that doesn’t degrade in high temperatures. Parties will be alerted to the recall beginning May 4. It’s suggested that owners visit the NHTSA recall site to see if their vehicle is involved.

IKEA

KULLEN 3-drawer chests have been recalled due to tip-over and entrapment hazards. If it’s not anchored to the wall, the chest is unstable. Consumers should contact IKEA for either a full refund or a free wall-attachment (anchor) kit. Call IKEA’s toll-free recall hotline at 888-966-4532 or go online for more information.

RH

Camino floor lamps have been recalled. The product’s on/off switch can overheat, melt or catch fire. Customers are entitled to a refund. Call 844-623-7500, email [email protected] or visit the company’s website for additional information.

Whalen

Bayside Furnishings Lawler-9-piece-dining sets have been recalled. Because they can break, the chairs pose a fall hazard. To obtain a refund, parties are advised to call 833-205-0936.

Safavieh

Aura and Silas 3-drawer chests have been recalled because of tip-over and entrapment hazards. The recalled chests are unstable if they are not anchored to the wall. Call 866-422-9070, email [email protected] or visit the company’s website for refund information.

Home Depot

Home Decorators Collection Print Block 4-drawer whitewash chests have been recalled. The recalled chest is unstable if it is not anchored to the wall, posing serious tip-over and entrapment hazards. Call 800-466-3337 or visit the company’s website for a refund.
