Marilena brings decades of experience in medical negligence, birth injury, wrongful death, and personal injury cases, including her time practicing at Elk + Elk and previously at a Cleveland defense firm, where she held leadership roles and chaired the Health Care Law Practice Group.
A former registered nurse and experienced trial lawyer, she has tried more than 50 medical malpractice cases involving catastrophic injuries and complex medical issues.
She has received numerous honors, including Best Lawyers® 2024 “Lawyer of the Year” in Cleveland for Personal Injury, and has been consistently named to Ohio Super Lawyers’ top attorney lists. Marilena also holds an AV Preeminent Rating from Martindale-Hubbell.
Outside the courtroom, she has served as President of the Ohio Women’s Bar Foundation, is a trustee of LifeAct, and teaches as an adjunct professor at CSU College of Law.
